June 23, 2025 – Seoul, South Korea – True to his gentle persona and unwavering dedication to meaningful causes, Min Yoongi, also known as Suga of global K-pop phenomenon BTS, has once again shown the world the power of kindness.
In a heartwarming act of philanthropy, Suga donated ₩5 billion won — approximately ₱208 million — to Yonsei Severance Hospital to help establish a specialized treatment center for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). As reported, the center will be named the “Min Yoongi Treatment Center” in honor of the BTS rapper, songwriter, and producer.

A representative from the hospital confirmed the donation and announced the groundbreaking ceremony of the upcoming facility. The center aims to provide a safe and nurturing space for young individuals with ASD by offering language, psychological, and behavioral therapy programs. It also plans to introduce a new initiative called the MIND Program — short for Music, Interaction, Network, and Diversity.
Suga personally met with Professor Chun Geun Ah, head of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Yonsei Severance Hospital, to discuss the program’s development. The MIND Program hopes to support children and teens on the spectrum in developing their individuality, communication skills, and independence through a holistic approach — including the therapeutic use of music, a medium close to Suga’s heart.

Reflecting on the experience, Suga shared:
“Through preparing the program and volunteering with Professor Cheon Geunah over the past 7 months, I deeply felt that music can be a precious channel for expressing one’s heart and communicating with the world. Being able to participate in the treatment process for children with ASD itself was a great source of gratification and happiness for me, and I will continue to add my strength so that more children can join as members of our society.”
This donation is not the first time Suga has extended a helping hand. Over the years, he has quietly supported various causes — from disaster relief to childhood cancer patients — consistently choosing to use his influence and resources to create lasting, positive impact.
Fans around the world have been celebrating the news under hashtags like #KindheartedYoongi and #MinYoongiTreatmentCenter, expressing admiration not just for his talent, but for his empathy and unwavering resilience.
And perhaps, this moment of generosity speaks even louder given the trials Suga and BTS have endured. Despite being subjected to years of media scrutiny, harsh criticism, and misunderstanding, Suga has continued to rise — not in defiance, but with grace, humility, and quiet strength. He has offered apologies for mistakes he never made, remained silent in the face of unfair judgment, and poured his pain, growth, and healing into his music — especially through his introspective mixtapes.

Long before this donation, Suga was already healing people — his words and melodies have comforted countless fans struggling with their own mental health. His journey has inspired millions, with ARMYs around the world following the path he carved through authenticity and courage.
He never used his struggles to gain sympathy. Instead, he stood firm, quietly carrying his scars while lifting others. For those who take the time to look past the idol image, they’ll find a man of profound depth — thoughtful, vulnerable, and wise beyond his years.
As BTS returns from military service, may the world finally be gentler to them. Because no matter how many times they are pulled down, Suga and his members continue to rise — not just with global success, but with hearts that give more than they’ve ever received.
“I am so proud of you, Min Yoongi.”
Words echoed by fans everywhere — a simple statement for a man who has done so much, often in silence.
