Rachel Griffin Accurso, widely known as Ms. Rachel, the beloved children’s educator and YouTube star, has declared her unwavering commitment to advocating for the children of Gaza, even if it means risking her career. In a recent interview with WBUR, Accurso emphasized her deep concern for all children and expressed her determination to use her platform to raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“I wouldn’t be Ms. Rachel if I didn’t deeply care about all kids,” she stated. “And I would risk everything, and I will risk my career over and over to stand up for them. It’s all about the kids for me.”
The ongoing conflict in Gaza has resulted in over 54,000 deaths, with children being among the most affected. The United Nations has described Gaza as “the hungriest place on Earth,” warning that the entire population is at risk of famine.
Accurso’s advocacy has not been without controversy. She has faced criticism from pro-Israel groups and right-wing commentators, some of whom have called for a federal investigation into her activities. Despite this, she remains resolute in her mission.

In addition to speaking out, Accurso has taken tangible steps to support children in conflict zones. She launched a fundraiser through Cameo, raising $50,000 within hours for Save the Children’s emergency fund, benefiting children in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In April, she donated $1 million to the World Food Program USA.
Accurso’s actions highlight the power of using one’s platform for advocacy, demonstrating a commitment to humanitarian causes and the well-being of children worldwide.
