This year The FAMAS (The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences announces its list of nominations that will be held on May 26, 2024, at the Manila Hotel.
Most number of nominations was grabbed by one of the 2023 MMFF’s most talked about movie with 14 nods, Mallari. Lead Piolo Pascual was on the list for Best Actor nomination.
Next in line is also from 2033 MMFF’s and one of the top grossing historical movie, Gomburza which premiered on Netflix last April 9. Movie lead, Cedric Juan was also nominated as Best Actor which he won last year for MMFF. The historical movie got 12 nods.
Another MMFF Movie, Rewind which was named the Highest Grossing Movie of all time got 10 nods with leads Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera nabbing the actor and actress categories.
Kathryn Bernardo and Dolly De Leon’s movie “A Very Good Girl”, one of the Highest Grossing Movie of 2023 was nominated for 7 categories.
Other runner ups are mostly from 2023 MMFF’s movie, like Firefly, Family of Two, Becky and Badette. For non-MMFFs, beside AVGG is Maricel Soriano’s In His Mother’s Eyes, Papa Mascot, Iti Mapukpukaw, Third World Romance and Monday First Screening.
