Martial Law film ´Katips´ hoard the awards, being the night´s big winner.
The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences celebrated its 70th awards last Saturday, July 30. Held at the recently rehabilitated Metropolitan Theater, recognizing the talents and crafts of the new batch of Filipino filmmakers, actors, and movie industry people.
The Martial Law film ´Katips´, was one of the big winners of the night for gathering seven awards in several categories categories: Best Picture and Best Cinematography, Best Musical Score for Pipo Cifra, Best Original Song “Sa Gitna ng Dulo” for Cifra and Vince Tañada, and winning the Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor for Johnrey Rivas.
The film narrates a depiction of the trials and tribulations of student activists in the time of Martial Law years. The film will be premiered in cinemas on August 3.
Kun Maupay Man It Panahon of Carlo Francisco Manatad and Jun Lana´s Big Night took home multiple awards as well from the celebration.
Special recognition were also awarded to some attendees of the event like Nora Aunor, Imee Marcos, and Tessie Agana.
