Spotify revealed the top artists, albums, songs, playlists and podcasts from its 381 million users around the world.
It released its Spotify 2021 Wrapped, the most awaited results, listing the most streamed songs, artists and podcasts.
In the Philippines, breakout star and Spotify RADAR Philippines artist Zack Tabudlo’s “Binibini” emerged as the No. 1 Most Streamed Song in the country in 2021.
“Butter” by hit Korean boy band placed second followed by Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license,” Pink Sweat$’s “At My Worst” and Bruno Mars’ “Leave the Door Open.”
For the second consecutive year, Ben&Ben became the No. 1 Top Streamed Local Artist in the Philippines, followed by Moira Dela Torre, Skusta Clee, Zack Tabudlo, and Arthur Nery.
Meanwhile, Arthur Nery’s “Letters Never Sent” is the Top Local Album in the country, followed by Eraserheads’ “Anthology,” a compilation of the band’s greatest hits.
The Most Repeated Local Songs in the Philippines are Zack Tabudlo’s “Binibini” and “Nangangamba.”
Pinoy Hip-Hop’s continued emergence also shines with the top five being rounded out by PDL, Flow G, Skusta Clee, and Yuridope’s “Pauwi Nako”, and Skusta Clee’s “Dance With You”, as well as “Lagi”.
Spotify’s EQUAL program, a global initiative to foster gender equity in music, continues to shine a light on local female artists and sees Filipinos embracing them.
Jana Garcia’s “Di Biro” became the Top Streamed Song for EQUAL Philippines’ playlist, followed by Yeng Constantino’s “Ako Muna” and Nadine Lustre’s “Wildest Dreams.”
K-pop superstars BTS took the No. 1 spot as the Most Streamed Artist in the Philippines followed by Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Ben&Ben and Ariana Grande.
BTS also became the No. 1 Top Streamed K-pop Artist in the Philippines followed by TWICE, BLACKPINK, IU and Seventeen.
