Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has pledged to defend President Rodrigo Duterte’s legacy and the Filipino people’s future.
To safeguard the legacy and defend the Filipino people, kailangan ko pong (umangat) sa mga kapartido ko at sa sambayanang Pilipino, lalung-lalo na kay Pangulong Duterte… Ipagpapatuloy ko pagbabago. “Gouloy ang malasakit at tuloy ang serbisyo,” “Gouloy ang malasakit at tuloy ang serbisyo,” “Gouloy ang malasakit at tuloy ang serbisyo,”
Go also advised his fellow candidates to “remember” why they opted to run for public office in the first place, which is to serve the people in a true way.
“There is nothing greater than serving our fellow Filipinos with the utmost sincerity and dedication,” Go added, emphasizing that “after the dust settles and everything is said and done, what matters is that the Filipino people prevail in this exercise of democracy.”
Go registered his candidacy for the president of the Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan in the 2022 elections on November 13, replacing Grepor Belgica before backing out on December 14, 2021.
According to Go, the action is “a collective decision of the party led by President Rodrigo Duterte” as well as the partnerships that it has formed.
Saving President Duterte’s legacy, pursuing the good transformation we’ve started, and protecting our people’s future,” he said, adding that running for president is a challenge.
From his decisive leadership to the projects that began and were completed under his watch, to the many programs that have improved the lives of those who need our help the most—the poor, the needy, the hopeless, and the helpless—all of them were our priority in our public service endeavors,” Go added. The Duterte Administration has achieved many significant milestones that have benefited our nation: from his decisive leadership to the projects that began and were completed under his watch, to the many programs that have improved the lives of ordinary Filipinos.
According to Go, the concepts of compassion, or “malasakit,” and true service that Duterte has taught him throughout more than two decades of working with him are central to his campaign.
“As we’ve seen in the past, individuals who crave for power do not win. Voters select leaders who are truly interested in helping others, “Go said.
Go committed to “making every second count” in order to guarantee that the future generation of Filipinos may benefit from all the gains made by the Duterte administration because of the Filipino people’s confidence and support.
Despite backing out from his candidacy, Go stated that his current emphasis is on assisting the government and the people in overcoming the pandemic’s problems and coming out triumphant as a unified and more resilient society.
“In addition to my commitment to President Duterte and my responsibilities as an elected senator, which includes ensuring that the national budget for next year is passed on time in order to complete the pandemic recovery, I will continue to spend time with those we have pledged to serve, listening to their concerns and giving them hope for a better tomorrow,” the senator assured.
He also reassured the people that he would continue to serve as a bridge between the government and the poor, needy, despairing, and helpless, bringing the government closer to them.
As I’ve stated previously, I don’t want to be known as simply another political wannabe, “Go added, “I want to be recognized as a public servant whose heart belongs to the masses, whose first goal is to serve the country and build a country that everyone can be proud of.”
“We will continue to seek the Duterte legacy on behalf of our people, who deserve nothing less than a safe future for our children,” he said.
