Through the initiative of Benguet Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) and the Philippine College of Swine Practitioners PCSP), the two organizations held a Barangay Biosecurity Officer Training which is a part of “Bantay ASF sa Barangay” (Babay ASF), a program which aims to monitor and stop the spread of ASF cases in the area.
Over 30 volunteers attended the training in which 12 barangays in Mankayan were properly represented. In cooperation with EVIALIS, a training program was provided to the attendees with information about the importance of Biosecurity, which is the primary aspect to focus to in farm operations in this fight against ASF infestations in hog farms. Bantay ASF sa Barangay, is a multi-stakeholder partnership between the public and private sector and veterinarians, seeks to control the spread of ASF and assist in the repopulation of farms affected by the disease.
EVIALIS, together with ULTRAPAK and WISIUM has been a consistent partner and supporter for these kind of trainings and seminars. The company’s expertise and knowledge when it comes to the implementation of Biosecurity practices is key in fighting against ASF cases experienced by different hog farms nationwide.
“Evialis has always been in the forefront of various campaigns against ASF and we value the initiatives of organizations like PCSP. This is the very reason why our company has been supporting their program, because we value and understand the
urgency of the ASF issue concerning our local hog raisers. In whatever way or capacity we can, Evialis will be supporting our local hog raisers and the hog industry all the way” said Dr. Aileen Guerrero, Product Manager.
Evialis As additional support to the company’s advocacy against ASF, Evialis has tapped Jean Mac Laurent, Technical Swine Manager, ADM Asia for a series of webisodes. With the topic, “How to protect your herd”, Mr. Laurent has prepared a series of webisodes that touches on the different aspect of protecting your farms against ASF.
