The telecommunication giant PLDT Inc. and its wireless arm Smart Communications Inc. announced that their customers are now shifting to online services, since COVID-19 cases continuously rise in the country.
PLDT and SMART said they have seen the significant jump in virtual online activities and bookings nationwide, particularly in areas under the enhanced community quarantine.
With that, PLDT and Smart have assured the public that they are ready to serve customers through virtual appointments and digital channels, for they had prepared their teams for this.
The telco said the work-from-home customer service frontliners are now operational, and they have supported and resolved over a thousand transactions for PLDT and Smart customers who booked appointments online.
In addition, the telco said that 98 percent of all social media cases have been responded to within the first 15 minutes after it was posted.
“It is good to see that our customers are maximizing our online channels and digital services. We have put these platforms in place to serve our customers better, and at the same time, keep them and our employees safe amid the pandemic,” said the Smart president and CEO and PLDT chief revenue officer Alfredo Panlilio.
PLDT is now encouraging its mobile customers to download and use the “GigaLife” App to manage and register to the subscriptions offered both on prepaid and postpaid.
PLDT and Smart customers can now associate their postpaid accounts to their credit card’s auto-debit feature. Also, they can now use the bills payment services through the websites or mobile apps available for their banks.
Customers can now also pay and process for phone and internet bills, or buy load via PayMaya, Lazada, and Shopee. With this, the customers can also enjoy incentives through the “Stay Safe, Pay Online” campaign.
PLDT said that their repair and installation teams are always ready to serve customers, although their mobility is still subjected to the restrictions imposed and implemented by local government units and the IATF.
Customers can also visit PLDT Home’s website for information on how to troubleshoot their own connection at home.
