The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) announced on Wednesday a suspect case of COVID-19 inside the bubble. The suspect case is a referee who had his fourth RT-PCR/swab test.
The referee is now under quarantine at the Athlete’s Village in Capas, Tarlac while his contacts are under strict isolation and will be retested on Saturday, October 24.
“All of the eight persons listed as the referees’ close contacts were also established and isolated within 12 hours. They will undergo another round of RT-PCR tests on Saturday, October 24.”
Games, which are being held at Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena & Cultural Center, pushed through as scheduled.
“We would like to assure the public that the integrity of the bubble has not been compromised. Protocols have not been breached,” the statement added.
Activities such as swimming, gym workouts, and jogging inside the Quest Hotel, where the 350-man delegation resides, are temporarily suspended.
