Mitusbishi Motors Philippines Corp (MMPC) has launched the new mid-size sports utility vehicle (SUV) Montero Sport 2020. The SUV is targeted to sell 1,200 to 1,300 units per month.
MMPC President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mutsuhiro Oshikiri said to reporters during the SUV’s launch, the monthly sales target would translate to 15,000 units in annual sales and would account for 20-25% of the automotive company’s total sales.
“Value has increased, but price is the same. We offer new features,” Oshikiri said.
Compared to previous models, the new Montero Sport has a crystal-clear eight-inch LCD meter, and an eight-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio compatible for Apple Carplay and Android. It also now features a power tailgate with hands-free feature, providing easy loading of cargo.
The SUV is imported from Thailand and comes in two variants: Montero Sport GLS 2WD priced at Php1.769 million, and the Montero Sport GTT 2WD priced at Php1.998 million. Available colors to choose from are white diamond, medium red, titanium gray, silver metallic, and jet black.
Oshikiri stated that MMPC is focusing on customers who can afford to buy vehicles in the Php1.5 million to Php2 million price range for the new Montero Sport.
Aside from the Montero, Mitsubishi Motors also sell the Mirage, Mirage G4, L300, Xpander, Strada, and the Pajero.
