The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas is deadset on making a P20 coin.

BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno said that the proposed P20 coin may be released as early as December, in time for giving out aguinaldo to kids.

The BSP Chief further says that the Central Bank is considering to phase out its P20 bill. This is because of the bill’s short lifespan.

On another note, a study by the University of the Philippines proves that the P20 bill is the most used denomination for small-value transactions. This is evident with the bill’s dirty and haggard appearance.
