English indie-pop act The Japanese House from Buckinghamshire, England had their Manila debut last September 12 through Karpos Live Mix 7 after years of numerous requests from their fans. The vocalist Amber Bain’s soothing voice and live three-part harmonies made the live show even better than the recordings.
As interviewed by Karpos Live, Amber Bain, said she would describe their music to new listeners as a major key melody with lots of harmonies within range of organic and electronic sounds and, it is perfect to listen to their songs on headphones while looking out the window; (which I usually do.)
Bain serves as the vocals and, plays guitar, synthesizer, and keyboard for their music.
The name The Japanese House was inspired by a property in Cornwall, England, previously owned by Kate Winslet with furnishings reminiscent of traditional Japanese tea houses in which Bain and her family stayed in her childhood.
Her favorite track she had ever written is “Saw You in A Dream,” released in 2017. It was re-released and included in her debut album “Good at Falling” which was dropped on March 1, 2019. Her debut album was co-produced by George Daniel (The 1975) and BJ Burton.
Karpos Live is a series of shows uplifting local and international acts on one stage. The next show ‘Mix 8’ will be on September 24 featuring Kiana Valenciano and Jeremy Zucker. You can buy your tickets here: http://karposlive.com/
