Melver Masangkay is the youngest of three siblings. The 18-year old Batangueno who hails from the town of Bauan can be naughty at times but has been molded and disciplined under the guidance of his parents.
Melver saw the sacrifices of his father who is a long-time mechanic in the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH).

When Melver knew that he was chosen as one of the scholars of Prestone, he is filled with happiness. Up to the next chapter of his life as a college student, his father is till part of it because the scholarship program is Prestone’s way of recognizing the hardworking and honorable auto mechanics who have been the company’s partner in promoting their products.
Melver believes that his selection as part of Prestone’s scholars is part of God’s plan for him. Though he knows that there are a lot of aspiring scholars who joined the Anak ng Mekaniko Scholarship Program. Part of his inspiration is his father’s hardwork that made Melver be motivated more than ever to finish his studies in order for him and his family to have a better future.
