Kingsmen 2016 was proclaimed the champion as they swept the Prime Dragon in the best-of-three finals of the Squires Division of Kings of the Court PH.
The members of Kingsmen 2016 proved their mettle not only during the finals. The journey was exceptional as the team relied on one another during the eliminations, quarter finals, semifinals leading to the championship.
Playing Team Manager Adrian Medina thanked the members of Kingsmen 2016 or their commitment and hardwork that gave the team its crown.
“We are very fortunate that we were able to win the championship. Though most of the members are still adjusting with one another, because of determination and passion to win, we were able to reach the pinnacle of this tournament. Our team winning the championship is just a testament to our camaraderie and team work as our players contributed to whatever they can on and off the court” said Medina.
“I would also like to thank our sponsors Alaska Milk Corporation, Councillors Elmer Paguio, Cocoy Dulalia and Liga ng Barangay President (LNB) of Meycauayan, Bulacan Olivert Duya for their support” added Medina.
Elite point guard from the famous Makati Wednesday Club, Andrew Bantug steered the team to championship with his coaching prowess while league MVP Roy Cayanan was the main guy together with Peejay Calonzo, Richard Gutierez, Cris Inson, Nomz Adrias and Earl Alegonero as the core of the team. Providing quality minutes for the team are bruisers and role players headed by Adrian Medina, Chris Gabriel, Chris Ramos, JP Ong, Khervin Ang, Luke delos Santos, Migs Cordero, RR Fernandez and Air Urquiola.
Kingsmen 2016 journey to the finals was not laid in a bed of roses. The team struggled in the early part of the conference but picked-up the pieces as the players learned to gel and formed their camaraderie.
It’s a season definitely one for the books for the Kingsmen 2016 and you can expect to see the team in other basketball leagues and probably make a dynasty on their own.
