Senate and Congress have recently approved the additional Php 8.3-billion budget for the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), allowing State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the country to offer free education to students starting next school year.
Sonny Angara confirmed the news on their social media accounts:

“The intention is that all state universities and colleges would no longer charge undergraduate tuition. The additional Php 8.3 billion is supposed to cover undergraduate tuition fee in all state universities and colleges,” said CHED Chairperson Patricia Licuanan.
“Free tuition will help (the students) tremendously. It will free, I guess, resources for families and students for other costs in getting a college education,” she added.
However, CHED has yet to iron out the details on what to do with the additional budget.
Here is the list of School that may include the 8B Additional budget for CHED.
