Brgy. Ginebra Kings and Purefoods Star Hotshots meet for the first time since Game 7 of the Philippine Cup semifinals. This was held last Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the MOA Arena.
All of the people are leaning toward the clash between the new star, Tony Mitchell versus the returning king, Justin Brownlee and the all-star players Jio Jalalon and Scottie Thompson.
Allein Maliksi heats up the court with 3 points during the first quarter, but Ginebra Kings fiery ended it with 26-24 score, in favor of them.
The Hotshots, however, took the lead in the 2nd quarter as they smoothly start a 12-point advantage with a 10-0 blast most specifically because of the triples from Paul Lee and Allein Maliksi.
It did not take long before Ginebra Kings went on their run led by Brownlee and Scottie Thomson as they figured out they did not need to match Star’s height and instead use their speed to get back into the game.
Throughout the last seconds of the last quarter, Ginebra Kings finally outscored the Star Hotshots by 113-98 and takes Manila Clasico win.
