John Wick, the high-octane assassin franchise made famous by Keanu Reeves, is expanding beyond film into a fully realised AAA videogame. The project was unveiled during a recent PlayStation showcase, with Reeves confirmed to be involved and the game designed to mirror the cinematic style fans expect from the series.
Developed in collaboration with Saber Interactive, the untitled John Wick videogame is billed as a proper action title rather than a smaller spin-off or strategy product. Early footage from the reveal emphasises intense third-person combat, choreographed gunplay and hand-to-hand fights that echo the franchise’s signature “gun-fu” sequences from the films.
The game’s story is reportedly a prequel, exploring earlier chapters in the legendary assassin’s life before the events audiences saw on screen. Reeves lends his voice and likeness to the project, marking one of the first times the actor has directly participated in a AAA game adaptation of the John Wick universe.

This announcement comes amid broader growth for the John Wick property. Since its first release in 2014, the film series — directed by Chad Stahelski and starring Reeves — has become a rare action franchise that reliably outperforms each prior entry at the global box office, with the fourth instalment becoming its most successful so far.
Alongside the game and mainline films, the John Wick universe continues to expand with spin-off productions including Ballerina, a series exploring the assassin world’s backstory, and other planned entries that keep audiences engaged with the franchise’s gritty, stylised action.
Sony and Saber Interactive have not yet set a release date for the game, but anticipation is high as fans of cinematic action gaming await a title that promises to deliver the franchise’s trademark combat in an immersive, interactive format.
