Better late than never!
There’s a usual saying that, behind every successful person, is a woman. Well, it will never be questioned as every woman, especially a mother, always has their children’s back. Also for SB19’s Josh Cullen, his mom will always be his superhero all-in-one. The correct word he describe her? “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!”
Mostly known as the lead rapper and vocals of the famous P-Pop boy group SB19. In 2018, Josh debuted with his fellow members Pablo, Stell, Justin, and Ken. Their debut single “Tilaluha” was written by fellow member Pablo, but its success was not widely acclaimed until “Go Up” in 2019. He also made his name through his solo releases “Wild Tonight”, “Pakiusap Lang”, “Get Right” and “Yoko Na” with Al James, another famous rapper.
The mother and son duo teams up to prepare the Filipino fave, Spaghetti, and garlic bread using Hanabishi products while reminiscing their hard times, as most of their fans know, Mommy Aldrene is a single mother who raised Josh and his other 2 siblings on her own. As Josh said, he is a Mama’s boy since then and will always thank his mom for not giving up.
Cullen was born on October 22, 1993, in Las Pinas, Philippines. He revealed on a YouTube vlog that a single mother raised him and he never met his biological father. In the same vlog, Cullen revealed that he was a victim of domestic violence by their nanny while their mother was at work. Cullen and his family struggled financially leading to his intermittent schooling, and graduated high school at a later age. After graduating, Cullen worked as a computer technician and a call center agent prior to auditioning as a talent.
The two had a great time cooking, as Josh said that Mommy Aldrene is a good cook, and Spaghetti was one of her specialties. Josh even added that he suggested his mom to make it a business but wasn’t able, due to a lack of capital which made the two emotional. Mommy Aldrene continues by saying that Josh even walks while his shoes are broken, just to attend auditions and practices. She then thanks the fans for supporting her son throughout their journey as SB19.
Josh continues to praise his mom and says that she deserves everything that they’ve been receiving now as she’s always given more than what they asked. As a thank you and Mother’s Day gift, he gave her a new cellphone which made Mommy Aldrene more emotional, with happiness. Josh ends the video by saying the sweetest thing for his mom and how he cherishes the bond between them even in his busy schedule.
