In the recent JobStreet survey conducted in May, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) has emerged as the predominant source of talent for 700 companies spanning 42 industries in the Philippines. Remarkably, 23.39 percent of respondent companies indicated that they primarily recruited their workforce from PUP, highlighting the university’s significant influence in supplying skilled professionals across various sectors.
Concurrently, graduates from the University of the Philippines (UP) have been identified as the “most desired” by employers, underscoring the esteemed reputation of UP alumni in the job market. Employers specifically commended PUP graduates for their effectiveness as team players in the workplace, reinforcing the university’s positive image among hiring organizations.
Beyond PUP and UP, the survey recognized several other universities that employers highly regard, including De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, Ateneo de Manila University, Mapúa University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, University of San Carlos, Far Eastern University, and Technological Institute of the Philippines.
These insights from the survey offer valuable perspectives for both educational institutions and job seekers, providing a glimpse into the preferences and priorities of employers across diverse industries as the job market
