Fairmont Makati, the flagship hotel, celebrated its 10th anniversary on February 7, showcasing a successful decade of operations. During the celebration, Mr. Willis highlighted the Philippines as an attractive destination for business and expressed optimism about the swift return of international travel to the region.
Fairmont, part of the Accor global hospitality group, plans to open over 30 hotels globally in the next 36 months, with a significant focus on Asia. The brand anticipates nine new properties in Asia, including Vietnam, Tokyo, Maldives, and Indian cities like Udaipur and Shimla.
Mr. Willis emphasized the importance of strategic, long-term partnerships, noting AyalaLand’s wealth of industry knowledge as a valuable asset. Fairmont is keen on expanding its collaboration with AyalaLand, viewing it as a key partner for future endeavors in the Philippines.
Fairmont Makati, with 280 rooms and suites, is described as “outperforming 2019” by Mr. Willis. The hotel’s robust performance is attributed to its comprehensive offerings, including seven food and beverage outlets, a signature spa, fitness facilities, and expansive event spaces. The brand anticipates exceeding ambitious targets set for 2023.
