PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. promised to give Filipino women more prominent roles and a greater voice in government.
Marcos added the Philippines was the first in the Asian region to formulate a National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security that provided the platform for improving the role and status of women in the security sector.
The President thanked the awardees for their dedication to sustaining peace and order at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The city government of Manila in partnership with the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) announced the establishment of the Crisis Center for Women and Children.
Lacuna, with Councilor Krystle Marie Bacani, the author of the ordinance creating the Crisis Center for Women and Children, signed the project’s documents during the event.
MDSW director Ma. Asuncion Fugoso said she is looking forward to the passing of the Manila Children’s Code.
“Once this code is already signed by our city mayor, this will be an additional point to get the Seal of Good Local Governance,” Fugoso said.
