A total of 160 and 27 brands attended the 26th Annual Convention of the Philippine Academy of Aesthetic Surgery (PAAS) at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel last September 11-12.
With the theme, “Emerging Trends and Innovations in Aesthetic Surgery and Medicine”, attendees get to see the latest mode and modernism in the field of aesthetics from renowned international faculty as well as local lecturers and speakers who are authorities in their fields.
PAAS ensured that all resource persons and presenters gave the attendees what they need to know with the aid of the latest scientific programs that made the talks very informative, updating and interesting.
This year’s convention by the PAAS gathered one of the largest in attendance and delegates maximized the event and took notes on the latest in the industry. From the previous conventions where cosmetic surgery lectures were the featured presentation, now, PAAS incorporated non-surgical lectures and correlate it with the latest in surgery methods that attracted dermatologists as well.
PAAS, which started in 1989, is an academy dedicated to the practice of aesthetic medicine and surgery. Since its conception, PAAS has sought to bridge the knowledge between Cosmetic Surgery, Dermatology, and Anti-Aging Medicine thereby generating a mutually reinforcing interface among these fields. This year, the Alvin Jorge MD FPAAS, PAAS president with Dr. Wayne Fulgado, secretary of the board of director and the whole PAAS officers lead the preparation of the convention.
There was also a post-convention activity that featured cadaver dissection of the torso as part of the lecture and demo in aesthetic surgery.
The success of this year’s convention has paved the way for PAAS to prepare for next year. With a lot of first that happened, a lot of local and foreign doctors already signified their intention to be part of the assembly.
