(MNLtoday.ph) The Philippines launches the 911 Emergency Hotline and the 8888 Citizen Complaint Hotline nationwide on Monday, August 1 as part of President Rodrigo Duterte’s fight for crime and corruption.
The 24-hour hotlines are now accessible to all Filipinos. Hotline number 911 will be the emergency number for national emergencies calls like fire, typhoon, earthquakes, landslides, tsunami, floods, terrorist attack, hazardous materials, civil disturbances, riot control, search and rescue, emergency medical service, vehicular accident, and other emergency situations. On the other hand, 8888 will be reserved for citizen concerns or complaints concerning government services.
