Today we have lost one of the greatest athletes of all time, a hero who we looked up to that changed the game of basketball and challenged us all to push beyond our limits. Kobe has spread his influence on and off the court, he showed the world that hard work really pays off.
As a basketball fan since a kid, I grew up watching Kobe Bryant in the early 2000s. We looked up to him as a hero and villain. He would crush our favorite team (me and my brother, who is, by the way, a die-hard Mavericks fan!) every season, but at the end of the day, we are all inspired by his tough mentality (Mamba Mentality), and for being a fierce competitor. He represents the meaning of hard work, dedication, and giving everything to what you loved.
It’s hard to believe that the most iconic athl and one of the greatest to ever do it has passed away at a young age (41), indeed Kobe’s legacy will live on and inspire generations to come.
Thank you for the countless memories and the love and passion you brought to the game of basketball. Thank you, Kobe, for inspiring me to not make excuses and get my sh*t done.
To the person who made me fall in love with the game of basketball, Rest in Paradise, my childhood hero. You’ll always be a forever inspiration to us.
Gone but not forgotten
