Manila, Philippines, June 20, 2016 – PLDT, the country’s biggest telecommunications company showcased how disruptive technologies are impacting today’s businesses during the recently concluded 2016 Philippine ICT Leadership Convention. The event, aptly themed “Digital Now!” was hosted by the telco giant and focused on how Social, Mobility, Analytics, Cloud and Security or SMACS is changing the rules of how companies of all sizes compete in an ever-shrinking environment and reshaping business strategies.

Top level executives, business leaders, and decision makers from the country’s leading conglomerates across various industries were invited to share insights on the future of the digital enterprise and discuss what breakthrough technologies will figure in the business road map.
The 2-day convention allowed guests to experience various digital technologies through workshops, exhibits and different plenary discussions.
PLDT Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan highlighted the importance of going digital in all business aspects. “Today, going digital is no longer just an option for enterprises and organizations. The Philippine ICT Leadership Convention will highlight the strategic challenges and opportunities that digital technologies present to Philippine companies,” said Pangilinan.
“The advent of new digital platforms has introduced disruptive technologies that are changing the way enterprises are interacting with consumers and the digital world. Through the convention, PLDT, along with industry leaders, will provide our insights to serve as a knowledge base for enterprises, enable them to take advantage of these disruptive technologies, and promote growth in their businesses,” said Eric Alberto, PLDT Executive Vice President and EPLDT CEO.
Attendees participated in breakout workshops that focused on specific technology tracks that included Data Center and Cloud, Big Data and Analytics, M2M and Internet of Things, Digital Engagement, Cyber security, and Unified Communications and Collaboration. These topics, provided them a holistic approach on the benefits of technology tracks to enterprises, for better understanding on these solutions.
