Nespresso Boutique at the Power Plant featured the voice of its brand ambassador George Clooney during the launch of its first branch in Manila. As the brand spokesperson, Clooney’s voice was heard on an audio-visual presentation mentioning Nespresso’s sustainable commitment to coffee farmers around the world.
“He’s more than just a brand ambassador. George is a real partner” said Nespresso CEO for Asia Renaud Tinel. “We all know Clooney is the perfect Nespresso spokesperson: suave, sophisticated, socially conscious and sleek” added Tinel.
The whole idea behind Nespresso was very simple, nut a very revolutionary one: the idea of creating a system that would give you an ultimate coffee experience, like a skilled barista, at home, every time, everywhere. It began in 1976 with Swiss Eric Favre’s patented invention of a sealed-capsule system for making coffee. Now Nespresso holds about 1,700 patents and its coffee system is available around the world, sustainably sourcing coffee from 70,000 farmers.
It’s Manila presence was felt last August of 2017 with an introduction of Grand Crus and machines, the Nespresso Boutique opened last December 2017 at the Power Plant’s new wing. Every coffee lover and real coffee connoisseurs will definitely love this place. It’s a warm, modern place with dark bright colors and a separate Tasting Area, Machine Gallery and Accessories Collection. Then there’s the colorful Coffee Wall of boxed capsules that has a global design feature.
There are special Reveal Glasses that are sold for coffee connoisseurs of them to sniff the aroma of Grand Cru coffees. If you are not that familiar with the available Nespresso’s 24 Grand Cru coffees, baristas are ready to enlighten you to offer free tastes.
I have seen Nespresso Boutique in videos with George Clooney endorsing. It’s Danny Ocean all over again, suit, suave and a nice coffee. TInel explained that the company wanted to bring an Italian barista experience into people’s homes: a tried and tested method to make the perfect cup of coffee, sealed in aluminum that will never lose its flavor.
Not only it is available in hotels and offices, but there are also Nespresso machines designed for first condo owners.
Another thing Nespresso has made good on is recycling. With millions of spent capsules expelled from machines every day, it only makes sense to recycle them. Aluminum is infinitely recyclable” according to Tinel and Nespresso’s global program encourages customers to return used capsules to the boutique, even at the Power Plant branch, so they can be sent out for processing. The coffee grounds are reused for fertilizer, the old capsules meanwhile are smelted and repackaged to be used again and again.
For coffee drinkers and lovers, this is surely a good news. And that is what MNLToday.ph’s commitment. To be the source of good news and to share it to our beloved readers. Coffee and good story, what else can you ask for?
