Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines Dato Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino vowed to strengthen his country’s good relations and promote the Philippines, particularly Pasay City, for investment, during his courtesy call on Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano on Friday, May 3.
Castelino assured Rubiano of the intention of Malaysian investors to do business in Pasay City.

Rubiano described her meeting with the Malaysian envoy as fruitful and very timely since the city is inviting more investors to grow the city’s economy and generate more jobs for its residents.
The mayor added that Castelino discussed the promotion of their halal delicacy in the city.
They also discussed peace and order with Rubiano assuring the ambassador of the safety of his compatriots in the city.
In fact, during the 49th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ (AEM) Meeting, The Philippines (PH) and Malaysia (MY) discussed various measures to enhance trade and investment relations including regional economic integration.
MY requested PH participation/support in its ASEAN internship program as a way to improve people-to-people interaction among college students. Under this program, interns will have the opportunity to gain experience in an ASEAN company.
