In response to the evolving needs of its nearly 92 million customers and the booming demand for ICT services in the Philippines, Globe recognizes the imperative to go beyond traditional telecommunication services. Embracing a cloud-first strategy, Globe partnered with Stratpoint, its long-time technology collaborator, to deploy a range of applications and technologies supporting a digital lifestyle.
With the Philippines now leading in global social media usage, spending an average of 4 hours and 7 minutes per day online, Globe pivoted to offer more than just phone and data services. This shift reflects the company’s commitment to staying relevant and providing innovative solutions to its customers.
Globe’s cloud-first strategy, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), significantly shortened the timeline for deploying applications, fostering rapid innovation. The partnership with Stratpoint, an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner, brought in over 30 cloud professionals to oversee the implementation, management, and support of AWS environments for Globe’s projects.
Within a few months of engagement, Globe and Stratpoint achieved remarkable results. The average environment provisioning time was reduced by 67%, and a flawless project record was maintained with zero percent defects month-on-month. This streamlined efficiency resulted in over US$200,000 in savings in just one year, showcasing the financial benefits of cloud optimization.
RJ Mendiola, Globe’s Director for Operations and Maintenance Division, Infrastructure Technology and Services, commended Stratpoint’s role as a superb business partner, emphasizing their commitment to customer-centric services. Stratpoint’s CEO, MR dela Cruz, highlighted the joy in contributing to nation-building through continuous partnerships and technological capabilities.
Globe’s collaboration with Stratpoint underlines the success of its cloud-first strategy, delivering efficiency, innovation, and substantial savings. The partnership not only accelerates Globe’s digital evolution but also sets a benchmark for transformative collaborations in the ever-evolving landscape of telecommunications and technology.
