The Wongchuking family, who purchased Mighty Corp.’s cigarette division in 2017, is reinvesting the proceeds in the construction of contemporary and thoughtfully designed communities in the province of Bulacan.
Caesar Wongchuking, chairman and president of Czark Mak Corp., stated in an interview that his goal is to create self-sustaining communities. The interview took place at the opening of the 102-room hotel Acro Residences and the contemporary restaurant Café de Margaux at the T12 Polo Land Industrial Estates in Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan.
The family purchased T12, a 22-hectare land next to MacArthur Highway, in 2017, and Wongchuking, who is also the company’s chief operating officer, said he sees it as a township containing commercial, residential, and industrial components.
T12 initially existed as an industrial park with storage facilities, according to his son Angelo. Yet, he added, “we were able to see Guiguinto’s potential for development in terms of its restaurant and commercial sectors.
Acro Residences, which grew to be one of the largest hotels in Bulacan province, Café de Margaux, which has a coffee shop and restaurant, Mount Fuji, a posh Japanese restaurant, and a gas station are among the current amenities of T12, which now has about 66 warehouses with an average floor area of 1,000 square meters each.
Japan Tobacco Ltd., which acquired the Mighty brand for P46.8 billion in 2017, a Japanese railway supplier, a telecom SIM card supplier, a bottler, a furniture manufacturer, sugar dealers, and fast-moving consumer goods wholesalers are a few of the industrial tenants at T12. The Wongchuking family also owns Sapporo Ice and Cold Storage, which has facilities there as well.
Another 10 hectares will be used for commercial development, according to Czark Mak. A sizable Chinese restaurant, a bar and restaurant on the third floor of a hotel, a convenience store, and other commercial spaces will soon be built. Moreover, a condominium building for residents is planned.
Caesar Wongchuking stated that eventually, mid-rise residential building would be undertaken.
For the last five years, the company invested around P1.5 billion in the development of T12, and it intends to invest more to realize its vision for the township, which will help the municipality of Guiguinto draw more visitors and investors.
The Wongchuking family was recognized by Guiguinto Mayor Agatha Paula Cruz for realizing the potential of the town’s vacant lands and for providing crucial funding for their development. “This will give our citizens valuable jobs. Hopefully, it will motivate others to establish similar projects that act as the region’s economic development engine.
According to Angelo, the family is making an investment in the province of Bulacan, where Mighty Corp.’s predecessor, La Campana Fabrica de Tabacos Inc., built tobacco harvesting and curing facilities in the 1940s. This was determined via study and the historical ties our family has had to Bulacan. We originally planned to stay in Malolos, but after doing some study, we discovered that Bulacan has enormous potential for both industrial and commercial activity. In addition, the airport would be constructed in Bulakan Town, which is only 10 minutes away from the T12 complex.
We have good restaurants now, starting with Mount Fuji Japanese Restaurant and now Café de Margaux, and we are extremely optimistic about Bulacan’s prospects, especially Guiguinto, said Angelo.
In addition to T12, Czark Mak is also building Polaris Industrial Estates, a 30-hectare property along Doa Remedios Trinidad Highway in Barangay Tarcan, Baliuag, Bulacan.
The main objective of the domestic industrial zone Polaris Industrial Estate, which is registered with the Board of Investments, is to build, sell, or lease industrial, commercial, and residential properties. The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development recently granted it permission to build housing developments.
Czark Mak has already invested P500 million in the construction of Polaris’ roads. The complex is furnished with conveniences that make conducting business quick and easy. The corporation stated that Bulacan is positioned to become the nation’s future business hub, with Baliuag serving as its primary access point, with the New Manila International Airport about to be built.
Real estate, commercial leasing, manufacturing, agribusiness, food and hospitality, and technology are Czark Mak’s areas of expertise.
The Wongchuking family has a number of properties and companies all around the nation. In Circuit Makati, where land costs more than P130,000 per square meter, their family compound covers more than a hectare.
