It was a very rainy day due to the approaching typhoon. Still I’m glad we manage to visit Bulacan to have a general meeting and alignment to one of our clients.
As we arrived in San Rafael, Bulacan around 12 noon, we decided to take a lunch. Sadly there is no restaurant open because of the on-going pandemic or perhaps because of the storm surge, but we’re lucky enough to stumble a very affordable buffet.
Teoderico’s Buffet and Event Place located at Calle Rizal, San Rafael, Bulacan have been a well-known family to-go since before covid. They offer buffet, event place and catering.
It offers an affordable food and event place, fit for the tight budget families, as Filipinos are itching to have a good meal with their families outside of their homes.
It offers a buffet for P199 per head with a humble food selection suit to Filipinos palette. I know it’s cheap and had a smaller food menu, but wait till you had a taste. Your money definitely hit a jackpot.
Their food might not use a high quality ingredients but its tasty! What took my interest is their Menudo. I mostly don’t eat that dish but its very savory. Its best to eat with rice!
Also, I noticed that they offer an assorted meat on stick which you can see in street food stalls or barbeque place, and their Crispy Kare-kare. In where you can see that their vegetables are separate, maybe they should separated that crispy meat as well. It’s been submerged in that peanut sauce, it’s not crispy anymore.
But what I loved in that food selection is their Lumpiang Shanghai! I usually eat those for “pulutan” or as finger foods same with fried chicken. I know that most Filipino’s families definitely have these dishes on any occasion, mostly on birthday parties but I just can’t help eating and loving it.
Of course, let us not forget dessert! There are more actually, around 5-6 ranging from macaroni salad and jellies… to pastries. It is not that sweet, it actually cleaned my palette with those savory and fried foods we just ate.
Lastly, they offer take-home treats / pasalubong, “Cheese Bread”, and assorted canned flakes! So when you’re in San Rafael, Bulacan ask the locals to help pin-point this place to try their food.
