With the on-going enhanced community quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people are advised to stay at home. But how can the people receive updated news?
Telecommunication giants PLDT and Globe are stepping up efforts to provide connectivity so that their customers will have access to reliable updates on the COVID-19 pandemic.
PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications is offering free access to more relevant government websites as part of continuing efforts to empower the public with the right information amid concerns over COVID-19.
Starting March 11, subscribers of Smart, Sun, and TNT can access the official websites of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and Philippine Information Agency (PIA) for free on their mobile phones.
The two said websites provides official information and updates on the number and locations of persons under investigation, as well as advisories on what to do and how to stay protected.
Now, the DOH have created a tracker which can be seen in the link here.
While Smart Communications has made access to Department of Health (DOH) websites free since the end of January to help people get up-to-date information on COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Globe is providing free and unlimited internet connection via GoWiFi services at select hospitals in Metro Manila.
The aim is to help medical frontliners, patients and their loved ones to remain connected and be informed in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
