Dr. Caroline Marian Enriquez, President of Our Lady of Fatima University or OLFU was recognized as one of the distinguished laureates of the Gusi Peace Prize International for 2019.
Dr. Enriquez was granted the Gusi Peace Prize because of her noteworthy and visionary leadership in the academe as a prime influencer towards a more innovative and globally recognized Philippine education system, as well as her notable efforts toward the attainment of peace in society.
The Gusi Peace Prize award-giving was held at the Philippine International Convention Center or PICC in Pasay City. Dr. Enriquez and 18 other laureates from around the world accepted the award. Aside from an educator, there are diplomats, politicians, physicians and acknowledged global leaders that accepted the Gusi Peace prize.
Right beside Dr. Enriquez in receiving the award is Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.
The 17 other 2019 Gusi Peace Prize Laureates are Justice Ignacio Mahiques (Argentina), Ambassador Patrick De Beyter (Belgium), Doctor Bernhard Sabel (Germany), Dr. Trevor Gibbs (Great Britain), Doctor Mark Berolowitz (Great Britain), Professor Jeffrey Levett (Greece), Ambassador Matio Bucaro (Guatemala), Doctor Dinesh Sharma (India), Edward Khoo (Malysia), Doctor John Cook (New Zealand), Farhan Wilayat Butt (Pakistan), Margarita Parshukova (Russia), former President Kgalema Motlanthe (South Africa), MCV Maphalala (Swaziland), Senator Teerakiat Jareonsettasin (Thailand), Doctor Burak Küntay (Turkey), and Doctor Gary Dubar (USA).
During her award acceptance speech, Dr. Enriquez alluded to OLFU as the pillar of her aspirations and vision for the young generation.
“They (OLFU) have supported me in everything that I have been doing for the sake of educating the Filipino youth. For and in behalf of all the students, old and young alike, please consider education as a catalyst for improving your lives,” Dr. Enriquez said.
