According to a study conducted from a University in London, happy people were more active, robust and fit. The study comprises of men and women who age 60 years old and above living in England for the course of eight years, which examined their positive outlook and physical well-being.
The results also shows that unhappy people were more prone to develop issues with their body as they grow older. Some of these diseases were diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer.
Here are some of the ways to improve your current body and lifestyle.
Daily Diet, eat healthy food
Eating the right food and drinking lots of water is a key in giving the body the right nutrients it needs. Start eating freshly made foods and avoid eating junk foods.
Be active, do some exercise
Exercising and physical activities increase muscle strength, bone density, flexibility, and stability making your body more resilient to diseases. Plus, it lifts your energy levels making you feel better.
Laugh a lot, be happy
Laughter is free medicine. It helps lower your stress levels, lighten your burdens, help release your anger and even helps you to connect to others.
Stay connected
Spending hours hanging out with your family and friends makes you less stressed and worried. Knowing you have someone to talk to can boost your mental health.
Learn something, don’t be stagnant
Learning new things helps you boost your mental health. Knowing one or two more things can’t be that bad. It makes you more knowledgeable. Who knows, it might be your next hobby or stress-relieving activity.
Relax, have time for yourself
Relax. Find a time to pamper yourself even for a few hours. Learn to manage your time efficiently. Too much happenings is never good.
As we grow older, the things we did in the past that affected our current lifestyle and body will build up little-by-little and become the foundation when we reach the senior years. The best way to live longer, happy and healthy life is to condition your body at an early age.
