PLDT with Smart Communications, Inc. had signed an agreement with Araneta Group to launch a lifestyle hub equipped with 5G technology in the 35-hectare Araneta City, located in Cubao Quezon City, last December 1, 2019.
The partnership aims to transform Araneta City as the country’s first Lifestyle Hub featuring 5G indoor deployment and 5G-enabled shopping mall. Araneta City is known for it’s concerts and events. “It is the perfect venue to test various applications for mall and concert guests, gamers and merchants,” said Jojo Gendrano, PLDT Enterprise Core Business Solutions Head

“5G is a versatile technology that can provide a more flexible and powerful platform for entirely new services. Its capabilities can be customized according to the use cases, and with this partnership, we look forward to piloting 5G-powered entertainment services here in Araneta City,” said Horn.
During the event, Smart hosted activities that includes gaming, virtual reality and cloud gaming, and enhanced broadband showcases, where people can readily experience for themselves how 5G technology can help deliver 5G services using the devices on display.
