Jasmine Tabuan and her eight siblings have been living in the streets before Bantay Bata 163 came and gave them a home.
“Minsan po ‘yong mga kaibigan ko po, pinapatulog po ako sa mga bahay nila, tapos sinasama ko po ‘yung kapatid ko na maliit,” Jasmine disclosed.
The poor child’s dream is to finish school.
Currently, Bantay Bata 163 is searching for a scholarship grant for Jasmine to help in her education.
Her father, Lope, is a tricycle driver though the father found it hard to provide his family a home. The local barangay helps him in providing for his family.
Late ABS-CBN founder Gina Lopez envisions Bantay Bata 163 to give abandoned and abused children a warm home to return to. The program further developed its services to four posts; Bantay Proteksyon, Bantay Edukasyon, Bantay Kalusugan, and Bantay Pamilya.
