After getting ready in the hotel room provided by the hotel, we rode a service cart to the tent set up at the hotel’s outdoor parking area. After registering, we enter the venue to be greeted by hotel staff dressed in the traditional Bavarian attire, the dirndl, and lederhosen. They have proceeded to offer us a mug filled with Weinstephaner beer.
As we arrived quite earlier, the venue was just filling up. I went over to the buffet tables where they served different Oktoberfest delicacies, of Nuremberg sausages, Spätzle, to a long serving of Strudel. For the complete list of food, you can just refer to the pictures!
As the minutes passed, attendees were invited to get their picture taken with the Anton Show Band, the live Germany-based band that provided music and entertainment for the event.
Around 8 PM, The Oktoberfest has officially started, with General Manager Goeran Soelter and Weinstephaner’s representative opening the keg on stage, followed by the live music consisting of Schlager, folk, pop music, and even some local hits like “Mr. Suave” by Parokya ni Edgar. It was very interactive as the band would often come off-stage and dance with the audience.
Some of the attendees were even bold enough to come up on-stage to join the band. After the event, we headed back to the hotel to rest and get ready to go back to Manila.
The event had such a great turn out, that ticket sales for the 2nd leg of Oktoberfest increased significantly. When we interviewed Mr. Goeran Soelter, he was very happy with the turn out that you can mark your calendars for another round next year!
