Founded on November 11 2016, The Philippine Poultry Integrated Alliance, Inc. – PPIA is an agricultural advocacy group of poultry growers aiming to improve the industry by promoting, sustaining, and developing the interests and welfare of its members. Their goal is to build long-term stability for poultry farms.

After concerns over bird flu caused the price of live chicken to drop to P10 per head, poultry farmers then asked assistance from the government
PPIA was the first one to step in. Philippine Poultry Integrated Alliance president Peter So said that this has resulted in daily losses of P179 million. During those times, the Philippine government has already earmarked P48 million in assistance for Pampanga farmers, and another P33.5 million has been allotted for farmers in Nueva Ecija.
Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said in an interview on DZMM that affected farmers can avail of P5,000 cash aid and borrowas much as P20,000 each.
Meanwhile, the ban on shipment of poultry products from Luzon to other parts of the country has been lifted by the DA, as long as the produce is not from bird flu-hit farms.
As reported by ABS-CBN news, Piñol said he was assured that biosecurity measures are okay. “We also have to listen to the pleading of the farmers,” he said.
