Compulsory enlistment for military service in South Korea has existed since 1957. This requires male citizens between the ages of 18 and 28 serve in the military. South Korea has mandatory military service of 21 (army, marines), 23 (navy) and 24 (air force, special civil service) months. There are no alternatives for conscientious objectors except imprisonment.
Korean male citizens with physical disabilities or whose mental status is unstable or questionable are exempted from the mandatory military service. When a Korean man becomes of legal age, he is required to take a physical check-up to determine whether he is suitable for military service.
Celebrities are also required to serve and this year, some of our oppas are about to be discharged from the military:
AAAAAA!!!! They look so adorable in military uniforms!
Finally, our long wait is over! Are you excited to see them again, too?S
