Davaoenos has been beaming with pride ever since the country’s 15th President, former Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte won in the 2016 election. The story of 16-year old Jaime Kent Abesamis from Matina, Davao City, who is actually a neighbor of the president is not that different at all. Growing up with a father who is the chief mechanic of their auto repair shop, their family including his mother and siblings has always been very supportive to their hardworking father.
The work of a car mechanic brings joy and pride to Jaime. He has been seeing his father’s hardwork that even the dirt of grease and oil from the cars that he is repairing, he is satisfied to know that his father is a good provider to their family.
When he got word from Prestone that he is one of the chosen scholars, Jaime was very thankful for the opportunity for him to give back to his parents. This is his turn to return the unconditional love that his family is giving him.
And now that his journey has started from being a Prestone’s Anak ng Mekaniko Scholar, he is ever determined to to honor his parents by dedicating his perseverance and finish his education.
