BUTUAN CITY – The government now has the support of the member schools of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) in Caraga region after they agreed to integrate into their curriculum a Population and Development Module (PDM), said Regional Director Alexander A. Makinano of the Commission on Population (POPCOM).
In an interview, Makinano discussed that the member-schools of CEAP are committed to help the government in the PDM. He said this commitment came out during the recent three-day training and seminar in the region, sometime April of this year.
Maikano said the teachers and some administrators planned to orient the parents on Responsible Parenthood – Family Planning and convene the School Administrators, Guidance Counselors and Social Studies teacher, for an echo in the use of the module.
Participants also agreed to implement the Adolescent Health and Development initiatives of POPCOM-Caraga such as U4U Teen Trail, Parent-Child Encounter, Seminar on Responsible Sexuality and many more.
