Makati City remains committed to giving senior citizens and person with disabilities (PWDs) a happy life in every way possible. They continue to enjoy benefits and privileges provided by the city government such as free tours to the country’s famous tourist destinations, a grand welcome party for new senior citizens, they also give cash gifts twice a year, free birthday and golden wedding anniversary cakes, free groceries every Christmas and a lot more.
Aside from these perks. the government has allocated approximately forty-four (44) million pesos this year, for the entertainment to cover both senior citizens and PWDs.
Through Makati Mayor Abigail Binay and Makati City Hall Accounting Department Officer in Charge (OIC) William Dayrit, they were able to close an agreement with five malls in the city in order for them to have an access in selected theaters and watch movies for free.
Also in line with this, they plan to install appropriate ramps and reserving parking spaces to ensure that they are accessible to senior citizens and PWDs.
