We now live in the digital age where we have abilities that decades ago, were only products of our imagination. We can shop online, talk face to face with people on the opposite side of the planet, find out the latest happenings in other parts of the world, and many more. But with these opportunities come dangers.
Fortinet, a global leader and innovator in network security, held its annual Security 361 event recently at the Shangri-La Plaza at the Fort Manila, Taguig City.
The said event discussed the latest in Blockchain technology and its relevance to today’s digital environment focusing on the need of having a strong network security.
Matthew Kuan, Solutions Director of Fortinet, Asia Pacific-Japan mentioned that Fortinet Blockchain technology reacts and provides solutions quickly and effectively, and it continues to compete with the ever changing digital landscape. He explains, “We live in a tight, integrated world and it is going to get tighter and things are going to evolve really fast. So, any compromise that will take place [does not provide] enough time to think. Having a fragmented approach will not allow quick resolution or an answer to the problem. Fortinet [offers] the breadth and the depth in providing certain speed and answers.”
A Blockchain is an incorruptible digital ledger of economic and financial transactions that can be programmed to record financial dealings and virtually everything of value. Blockchain can be used to secure social, economic and political information and is uniquely encrypted, making it very difficult to create fraudulent transaction.
Blockchain technology, Kuan claims, is the next gap after the internet especially for end-users and businesses that are in need of security.
