Philippine Army’s shooting team represents the Philippines in the Australian Army Skill-Arms Meeting in Victoria, Australia and picked up numerous medals.
Lead by contingent commander Colonel Royland M. Orquia, the squad bagged 10 gold medals, 13 silver and 1 bronze, and a perpetual trophy during the preliminary awarding presentation at the Puckapunyal Military Area, according to Ace Ronald Ampong.
The final matches, including the Rifle Falling Plate, Light Support Weapon (LSW) Falling Plate, and the Top Shot Championship will be held on Friday and the winner of each category will receive a perpetual trophy during the closing ceremony to be held later in the day.
The Australian Army Skill-Arms Meeting, which started on May 12, is a shooting competition involving government-issued firearms (pistol, rifle, and LSW).
Other countries invited were aside from the Philippines including Cambodia, Canada, East Timor, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Tonga, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Sgt. Ariel Taganait, 2 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze;
SSgt Benito Sumalag, 1 gold, and 2 silver;
SSgt Angelo Bonagua, 1 gold, and 2 silver;
Cpl. Jayson Paden, 1 gold, and 2 silver;
MSgt Armand Mejia, 1 gold, and 1 silver;
TSgt Rodney Rizano, 1 gold, and 1 silver;
TSgt Rudy Edas, 1 gold, and 1 silver;
SSgt Kenny Lloyd Guillermo, 1 gold and 1 silver and;
Capt. Rodolfo Pulido, 1 gold.
