In a conversation with GOT leading stars, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) at South by Southwest Film Festival, the producers exposed to the audience that Game of Thrones has cast another eminent music star to be in the guest spot for the upcoming GOT Season 7.

According to Benioff and Weiss, the “Shape of You” singer is Maisie Williams’ favorite star.
“For years we were trying to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie and this year we finally did it,” Benioff told the audience as he nod to Maisie who is a huge fan of Sheeran.

Previous seasons of GOT have presented famous artists including Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, Will Champion of Coldplay, Sigur Rós, and Mastodon.
There is no further information on Ed Sheeran’s character, but whatever it is, I know GOT fans and Sheerios out there can’t wait for July 16 to arrive!
