After about 22 hours of the procession from Quirino Grandstand, the image of the Black Nazarene finally returned to Quiapo Church at 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Traslacion took two hours longer than last year to escort the religious icon to its original home as more than a million devotees joined the feast of Nazarene.
The procession covered a 6.9-kilometer route starting from the Quirino Grandstand and ending at the Quiapo Church, proving that it is notably one of the world’s biggest displays of Catholic devotion that showcase the Philippines’ status as the Church’s bastion in Asia.
