Cesar Montano was appointed as the new chief operating officer (COO) of the Tourism Promotions Board (TBP) as confirmed by Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo on Tuesday.
Teo said that Montano will help in the preparations of the next the Miss Universe pageant, which is set to be held in the Philippines in January 2017.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, Teo said, “This will be a learning process for him. He will help us in the holding of Miss Universe,”
The TPB is tasked with domestic and international promotions for the Department of Tourism. It was previously headed by Marketing Veteran Domingo Ramon Enerio III.
Montano is a supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte and attended his inauguration in Malacañang last June.
