Finding the perfect Mexican restaurant to satisfy your cravings can be a little tricky here in Manila. Thankfully, you don’t have to look too far. We’ve found the perfect place that serves up the most delicious Mexican dishes that will leave you savoring every bite.
Lo De Alberto is the only authentic taqueria in the Philippines. With Balam Nazar as their head chef – a native of Mexico City – one can only expect the best. Once you enter the red-bricked, warmly-lit resto, you can already smell the fresh ingredients being cooked together to perfection.
Salsas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos – you name it, they have it.
One can start with their famous Chilaquiles (P220) which is tortilla chips drenched in Salsa Roja, Pico de Gallo, chicken, and sour cream chunks. With a serving bigger than your face, this is a great dish to kick-off your Lo De Alberto experience.
Their Hongo Quesadilla (P165) isn’t like other quesadillas you’ve had before. The oozing cheese and fresh mushrooms work in amazing harmony. Another must-try would be the Carnitas de Puerco (P235), which is a burrito filled with Tarasco-style braised pork. Served with their made-from-scratch corn and wheat tortillas, it’s more than enough to leave you stuffed and satisfied.
Don’t forget to have their best-selling drink, Horchata (P110). It’s a creamy rice milk and cinnamon drink that’ll keep the sweetness amidst your salsa-filled meal.
With two branches in Ortigas and Makati, there’s no reason to leave your authentic Mexican cravings unsatisfied. Roll up to one of their branches and hear the angels sing: “Lo and Behold: Lo De Alberto!”
