Being healthy and staying fit is already an issue. But once you become motivated and decided to finally move and exercise, choosing a fitness regimen will also be challenging.
It was not a problem during my younger years as I was naturally active. Being a varsity player in tennis when I was in high school, add to that, my regular pick-up games of basketball with my classmates and our dance practices where we also do some gymnastics movements. College is pretty much the same since I still regularly play basketball. Ahh…those were the days when metabolism was not a problem.
But when I started to work and began to age, I knew that I needed to have a healthy lifestyle. Thankfully, when I got married to my lovely wife Lhara, she was also an advocate of fitness.
Since I already have my basketball, I wanted to have a fitness activity that I can share with the wife. Exercise has been proven to release endorphins or what they call the “happy hormone”. And yes, this is important to me because as they say, a happy wife is a happy life.
That is why when we discovered Crossfit, we never looked back.
More than the challenging work-out, we love doing the WODs (work out of the day) with our “CrossFit colleagues who became our friends. It’s nice to see everyone improving and getting stronger day-by-day.

Still not convinced? CrossFit being an effective way to be fit and from being an effective way to release stress and tension from work, it also builds confidence and can reawaken to your competitive spirit. This is because all through the year, CrossFit has various competition that its members can join.
These are just a few of the many benefits of CrossFit. For me and Lhara who happens to live in the highlands of Antipolo, it is also a healthy reason to avoid the horrible traffic. Instead of me being stressed as I try to get home, we are enjoying ourselves in the box together with our friends. By the time the WOD is over, traffic is already a breeze.
But hey…these are our own reasons. I am sure that once you try it, you yourself can start counting the many “whys” you will keep coming back for more.
